In 2009 he moved to the United States to study medicine and eventually went on to study Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr in Seattle. Swami Ji expanded his yogic community in the US by starting a thriving yoga program, Nishpatti Yoga, which continues to grow & flourish in Iowa, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Seatle. The Nishpatti Foundation evolved from this initial mission.

Swami Ji’s grandfather was a disciple of Jagadguru Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, then Shankaracharya of Jyotirmath. The senior Jagadguru Swami Brahmananda Saraswati, also known as Guru Deva, was the teacher of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who famously brought Transcendental Meditation to the west. Now, Swami Ji carries the fire of the Vedic teachings and continues the lineages’ work to bring peace, love, and understanding throughout the world.

Madelana Ferrara

Peace Education Coordinator United States of America.

"I am a peacemaker.

In the tradition of the Beatitudes of Christ, I am happy when there is peace within me and peace around me. That is when I feel closest to the field and force of Divinity.

In the tradition of the Yoga Sutras, I understand that I can only offer what I have access to in myself. Hence, my ongoing practice is to create and then share peace.

Peace education is an absolute necessity. Humans need peace and we must cultivate it for the sake of our species and it’s evolution.

Peace education is the remedy for sickness, for war, for human trafficking, for divorce, for sexual abuse, for domestic violence, for basic dissatisfaction experienced by people.

Scientific evidence supports what yoga has taught for ages. If not now, when?"
